Arise to birth with me, my brother.
Give me your hand out of the depths
sown by your sorrows.
You will not return from these stone fastnesses.
You will not emerge from subterranean time.
Your rasping voice will not come back,
nor your pierced eyes rise from their sockets.
Look at me from the depths of the earth,
tiller of fields, weaver, reticent shepherd,
groom of totemic guanacos,
mason high on your treacherous scaffolding,
iceman of Andean tears,
jeweler with crushed fingers,
farmer anxious among his seedlings,
potter wasted among his clays--
bring to the cup of this new life
your ancient buried sorrows.
Show me your blood and your furrow;
say to me: here I was scourged
because a gem was dull or because the earth
failed to give up in time its tithe of corn or stone.
Point out to me the rock on which you stumbled,
the wood they used to crucify your body.
Strike the old flints
to kindle ancient lamps, light up the whips
glued to your wounds throughout the centuries
and light the axes gleaming with your blood.
I come to speak for your dead mouths.
Throughout the earth
let dead lips congregate,
out of the depths spin this long night to me
as if I rode at anchor here with you.
And tell me everything, tell chain by chain,
and link by link, and step by step;
sharpen the knives you kept hidden away,
thrust them into my breast, into my hands,
like a torrent of sunbursts,
an Amazon of buried jaguars,
and leave me cry: hours, days and years,
blind ages, stellar centuries.
And give me silence, give me water, hope.
Give me the struggle, the iron, the volcanoes.
Let bodies cling like magnets to my body.
Come quickly to my veins and to my mouth.
Speak through my speech, and through my blood.

Bananas in Pajamas
speaking of pijamas... my all time favorite children's TV show is Bananas in Pijamas best watched with Milo and Tim Tams. There is also a bear named Morgan who unfortunately is a boy but still cool. So for your viewing pleasure here is the theme song:

Flammable Pajamas
Today was great the FR Rock Climbing trip was tons of fun! I am feeling satifyingly sore from my climbs and pretty psyched about the new stuff I learned. We got back about an hour early and we did a bit of climbing on the indoor wall and I ended up being there with Bria and Kirt (the AWESOME leaders) and I got to attempt all kinds of bizarre/difficult climbing moves. I climbed rope the length of the wall, I repeat climbed a ROPE you should be awed. To add to my good day Sir Hotness and Dreads Hottie both incredibly attractive climbing guys. Sir Hotness was totally cool we were talking for awhile and I fulfilled my quota for random-stranger-flirting.
good day :)

what is that yellow thing in the sky?
today was beautiful! It was gloriously sunny and a pretty great day. No school related suckieness, annoying drama or global trajedy. Everybody seemed to be enjoying their vitamin d and increase in sun related seratonin. I am a dork, I know. I went for a run, I am saddly out of shape, I attempted my usual 4k route and ran less than 2k and got passed by most of the middle school track team. Then I had a scrumptious smoothie homeworked in the sun to Bob Marley.
it's sunny playlist:
Sun is Shining ~ Bob Marley
On the Radio ~ Regina Spektor
One Headlight ~ The Wallflowers
Beautiful Day ~ U2
I am Superman ~ REM
Catch My Disease~ Ben Lee
One Love ~ Bob Marley (they sang this at Desmond Tutu's Church in Capetown, I would go to mas there)
Doo Be Doo ~ Freshlyground
Life Less Ordinary ~ Carbon Leaf
Horizon Has Been Defeated ~ Jack Johnson
Hey Juliet ~ LMNT
Stop Children ~ Mamas and Papas
Three Little Birds ~ Bob Marley

what is the world coming to!
you have GOT to be kidding me lets just send Blagojevich on a vacation in Costa Rica to be on TV instead of jail. Well as long as all rich people know they can get out of jail by appearing on a reality show.
Iowa passed gay marrarage before Washington, well good for Iowa- but seriously!
Oh and as usual death and destruction in Iraq but the news only reports the number of police officers killed, 11. And of course did not mention the civilian deaths.
p.s. apparently shoe throwing is a legitimate protest, but you still get a one year jail sentence

Pickles
I quite like pickles
they are a pretty color of green
and smell nice
they are always satisfyingly salty
and have a lovely crunch
my Mom would smuggle pickles
into Korea
oddly enough
the only to get pickles
in Seoul is to be in the military
I like pickles
