Inspiration is disturbing. She does not believe in guarentees or insurance or strict schedules. She is not interested in how well you write a grant proposal or what you do for a living or why you are too buisy to see her. She will be there when you need her but you have to take it on trust. Surrender, she knows when you need her better than you do.

unpacking

she gingerly opened her suitcase,
unpacking the memories
a pair of pants, with chai tea and ink from a progressive story
a skirt worn to bed because she couldn't stop talking long enough to change
a pair sweats that had been part of a skit
a jacket that accidentally matched her friend's
a sweater still damp from dancing in the rain
a shirt that smelled faintly of him, a smile alighted on her lips as she thought of him

one by one she put her memories in the washing machine
pausing to remember each one
an ache entered her heart
as she missed them all
she let the ache absorb her, then let it go
let the cold water rinse them

despite the fact I am confused as hell and really miss.... certain people

I walked home today and I got offered a ride home from bearded guy in leather on a motercycle! ON Mercer Island! I stoped and talked to him for a bit (from a safe distance, Neurotic Larry would have approved) and he was pretty cool. It's like hell has frozen over, people this cool do not live on Mercer Island. It made me smile then, I was stopped by an old lady who wanted to tell me what a suprisingly nice day it was outside, she was right. So I walked home smiling at the pavement because the world is brighter today. I took out my earbuds to listen to the birds the cool wind kissed my face. When I got home I washed the deck table outside and sat outside eating yogurt and blueberries for an hour, it was nice.

Romeo and Juliet

I think I get it, how two people get married and give up their lives for eachother in one day. Sometimes you meet a person who after a few hours it seems like you've known for years. A person who you find your self telling truths you havn't told anyone else and they tell you the same. Its strange how close you can become, how much you share. How much you could have, why you would sacrifice everything for someone you just meet.
